3D visualization on Mobile Devices
Mobile devices are getting powerful and ubiquitous. Microsoft Mobile 5 provides support for DirectX. It’s now easy for developers to create applications that support 3D. I’m looking forward to getting some use cases from users for 3D visualization applications. A few days back I received an email from a SketchUp user who wanted this capability. He works for the construction industry and wanted a Windows PocketPC based sketchup viewer. Would appreciate comments.

Geometric has announced the availibility of FREE edrawings for SketchUp.
eDrawings for Google SketchUp provides an innovative way to share your designs. You can publish your SketchUp models to eDrawings files that can be packed into a self-executable (.exe). The self-executable file contains the viewer as well as the design data. This ensures that the recipients of such a files do not need to purchase or install any viewer to see the model.
You can also convert your eDrawings models to HTML format that can be kept on a webserver. Use Internet Explorer to see the models in the browser.
Geometric would also release a “Professional” version of the product that would allow users to Create Markups, Query Dmensions, Create Cross Sections and password protect the eDrawings file.
