Introducing 3D shape search for SolidWorks
3DSearchIT for Solidworks is an innovative product that allows you to search for parts similar in shape. What Google Desktop does for text, 3DSearchIT does for SolidWorks models in your PC or network. 3DSearchIT can also locate all parts that are identical. It can also classify parts based on shape. You can easily create an album of Nuts, Bolts etc. in your repository. 3DSearchIT comes bundled with a tool to find Geometry Difference between the searched part and the returned result(s). You can visually figure out the faces that were different or identical. 3DSearchIT can dramatically shorten your design time by allowing you to resue models already existing in your repository.

We have developed a shape search engine that works on both CATIA and step files for the moment but that is CAD and axis independant.
