Support for STEP and IGES formats

Very often I have customers asking for translating STEP/IGES files to eDrawings. This means it would be possible for people not having access to CAD installation to convert these neutral formats to eDrawings.

The good news is that we are actively looking at supporting STEP/IGES formats in near future. My technical team is looking into it. Watch out this space for more information soon.

New release of eDrawings for Unigraphics NX

We released a new version today. Unigraphics users can now leverage smart new features in the eDrawings 2007 viewer. eDrawings provides the most hassle free visualization solution to Unigraphics users. I do not beleive that our competitors are even able to open NX4 part/assemblies. I am not even talking about the translation failures/issues.

3D visualization on Mobile Devices

Mobile devices are getting powerful and ubiquitous. Microsoft Mobile 5 provides support for DirectX. It’s now easy for developers to create applications that support 3D. I’m looking forward to getting some use cases from users for 3D visualization applications. A few days back I received an email from a SketchUp user who wanted this capability. He works for the construction industry and wanted a Windows PocketPC based sketchup viewer. Would appreciate comments.
